On this the Third Sunday of Ordinary Time the beginning of the Gospel of Saint Luke is proclaimed. The evangelist Saint Luke, the dear and glorious physician, who became a disciple of the Lord Jesus through the ministry of the Apostle Paul writes an account of the life of Jesus the Christ for his patron, Theophilus.

“There was a Wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there….” With these words Saint John the Evangelist opens one of the most beautiful accounts in the New Testament.

Today is the 12th day of Christmas the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord. Jesus Christ manifested in the flesh and revealed unto the Gentiles as Savior of the World.
