The Second Sunday Ordinary Time

This Sunday, January 18. 2026, we begin the liturgical season of Ordinary Time. Not ordinary, as in plain or simple, but ordinal time, the counting of days and weeks until the coming of the Lord. This is a season of hope and a time to recommit ourselves to the building up of God's Kingdom through prayer, worship and charity. Green is the color of the season, it expresses our hope in Christ who is with us each day in our daily labors, our cares and concerns. 

At the conclusion of the Mass, we are sent forth to share the good news of the Gospel and through the holiness of our lives to build up the Kingdom of God and to bring others to faith in Christ.
